Lumenis One® is a fourth generation Intense Pulsed Light system with patented state of the art technology to optimize power, pulsing and light delivery to provide maximum results, comfort, and safety. Lumenis invented IPL therapy and continued to offer the most advanced tools in this arena.

Which areas can be treated?

Photorejuvenation with the Lumenis One can be used to treat virtually any area of the body. The most commonly treated areas are the face, chest, and hands.

What is unique about the Lumenis One is the ability to deliver different wavelengths of light in customizable pulses through a sapphire tip on the end of the handpiece. The light is absorbed one of three ways: superficially, by dark pigment, through broken capillaries, or, more deeply, by larger blood vessels and collagen fibers. Pigmented lesions first darken, then slough off, allowing dilated capillaries to coagulate and depositing new collagen fibers, giving the skin a fresh appearance.

How is Photorejuvenation ONE performed?

No topical anesthetic is required for most patients, and the discomfort is minimal. A cold gel is applied to the treated area, and the eyes are protected with special goggles or pads. Pulses of light are gently applied to the skin over about 20 minutes. There is some pinkness to the surface for a short period after each treatment, but most patients go right back to work or other activities. In general, a series of four to six treatments are necessary to give optimal results, but sometimes the effects are seen after only one or two treatment sessions.
