What is Kybella?
Kybella® (deoxycholic acid) is an FDA-approved injectable drug used to minimize the appearance of a double chin. Patterned after a natural substance the body makes for absorbing fats, Kybella is a manmade injectable that destroys fat cells. Once injected, the cells can no longer store or accumulate fat. Kybella is a noninvasive, non-surgical treatment option.
How are Kybella treatments performed?
In a Kybella session, the physician carefully marks the area to be treated, and multiple tiny injections are administered.
When will I see results from a Kybella treatment?
While results are patient-specific, many individuals see visible results after one to two sessions. Some patients require a third session.
How long do Kybella results last?
Once Kybella is injected into fat cells, it destroys those cells permanently. Therefore, once the desired aesthetic results have been achieved, patients do not require retreatment.
